Simple homeschool science

February 20, 2009

Here is how my 5 yo spent the morning.  Give him an old radio, a screwdriver and let him have at it.

Talk about simple.  No parent guide needed.  No comprehension questions, just some simple conversation and time to explore.

As my wise dad says “there is nothing better than seeing for yourself”.

Fantastic! Don’t forget to save those parts for future “inventions.”

I am particularly fond of old mixers, blenders and especially toasters. They are so … obvious.

Gears and heating coils. Simple circuits. Simply beautiful.
